Hi guys…. Sorry,
for the second one I always doing the wrong thing in my assignment… :(
but I will force my self to be better than now… amiin…
OK…. Directly, I just want to make a little reflection
for the last meeting in writing class.
It is still about Paragraph, One thing that I guess so easy but it is also little
confusing me.
After having class with Miss Vita and discussing with my
friends on last Friday, I can take some points of topic which had been
discussed. They are:
-
Narrative is a paragraph containing characters, time, conflict, setting, and a resolution. It is usually a chronological event. Although when you are reading a paragraph which tells about an accident and there is a definite time, it also belongs to Narrative. Recount, Spoof, and many others are included in Narrative Paragraph too.
- Proses Analysis paragraph can be called as Procedure text. It usually presents steps by step in a logical order
- In Cause and Effect paragraph, the cause and effect should be reflected in the topic sentence or commonly in the fist sentence. However, sometimes in the topic sentence only reflects the cause or the effect .
- We can not call a paragraph as Classification paragraph directly only because it uses the words first, second, etc., without read the whole paragraph and understand the purpose of the text. We have to pay attention to it, because when we just judge a paragraph by the first sentence or by characteristic its paragraph, we can be cheated. Unfortunately, it almost occurs to My friend and I. In One of my friend’s Presentation, the paragraph that Presents has similar characteristic with classification paragraph. Whereas, that is argumentative paragraph. Hufft…… We fell little bit confuse because of the paragraph. Finally, all of us have understood that many kinds of paragraph are similar and the key to differentiates and make us more understand is by looking at the purpose of the paragraph. It will help us determine the kind of the paragraph easier.
Even though, I am still confuse about the other kinds of
paragraph. Such as about an expository
paragraph. Does the paragraph belong to Narrative? What is the main
characteristic of expository paragraph?
And are there a text that contains several types of a paragraph???
I hope some of you can answer it… :)
